This year's show will benefit Kidsave

The event will be held at The Embassy Suites, Convention Center, in Washington, DC on Thursday, May 8, 2014 as part of our 2014 Mother’s Day Weekend celebration.

The 2nd annual “Runway Moms for a Cause” (RMFC) black tie event will provide an opportunity for recognized “Power Moms” to walk the runway in an effort to raise funds for “KIDSAVE” (http://www.kidsave.org/), a local non-profit organization, so they may continue to carry out their mission to create changes in the foster care system by connecting children to caring families. KIDSAVE’s ultimate goal is to connect 1,000,000 orphans and foster youth to parents and mentors by 2020 so they may experience love, hope and the opportunity for a successful future. At RMFC we strive to help them reach this goal. 

200 guests are anticipated to attend and will represent DC’s elite dignitaries, corporate leaders and influential members of the media. Only twenty of the area’s philanthropic “Power Moms” have been invited to participate in this initiative, and will grace the runway adorned in one-of-a-kind designs by the celebrated L~Shandi label (http://www.LShandi.com/) created by RMFC Founder Lara Akinsanya. The collection for this event will carry the theme of “Vintage Chic”.
